The argument was that it contained meat meal - unspecified animal product in other words. Aside from that the other ingredients aren’t exactly healthy, amongst a few other things. This was a while ago so not sure if anything has changed but I don’t feed them to my hamster because of it.

Alright. I was told to try whimzees instead. I might let my hams finish up their milk bone box since theres not many left. I'm hoping it will help one of my boys gain weight.

Well milk bones are not at all nutritious so can’t imagine it would help with weight gain - not that they should even be fed enough for hams to even start gaining weight from it. They’re just used for keeping teeth down. Whimzees are healthier yes and seem to go down well. Try natural protein sources for weight gain there’s lots on the wiki.

Yeah, my other boys bottom teeth need to be kept down some and he doesn't like wood nd will only chew cardboard and milk bones.

That is unfortunate however I would stop feeding the milk bones anyway, meat meal means literally any part of any animal and really I wouldn’t feed my dogs that let alone a hamster. Whimzees are cheap so you really won’t lose much money.

Other than meat meal- they contain BHA, a harmful preservative. They’re not very high quality to be honest. I wouldn’t let my dogs go anywhere near them frankly. I prefer to know everything contained in my hamster’s treats.
There are always homemade dog biscuits, whimzees, as well as small name brands that aren’t well known. Just go for something that has fresh, specified, and hamster-safe ingredients. Best wishes
