Default Dog treats safe for Syrians in US?

I have read some in the forums and i thought Milk Bones were ok and have given them to my hamsters before and none of them suffered but what is bad about them specifically? What other brands are safe and does anyone have any recipes for a hard treat like that?

Whimzee treats are a very popular option. They are dog chew that are vegetable based and I believe they contain potatoes. They are great for wearing down teeth and are normally very popular with hams. My ham, Libby, goes crazy for them and he has been nicknamed The King of Whimzees lol! The alligator/crocodile ones are very common. Make sure to monitor your ham while there eating it to make sure there not eating the whole thing. I like to give my ham his Whimzee a few times a week. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to ask!
This is some more information on Whimzees

Oh I forgot to mesion that they can be purchased in the dig isle in a local pet shop, Petsmart or Petco (which are common in the US), or online. I typically get a bag of the smallest size but they sell them individuals so your ham can try it to see if they like it before you get a bag.
