Re: Questioning a potentially dangerous hamster food
Which food is it? Agree -don't buy anything that has BHA or BHT in it. Reputable hamster mixes don't use those as it has long been known they can be harmful.
The ingredients list isn't good generally - it contains salt and molasses (a form of sugar).
Not sure which country you're in but Harry or Hazel Hamster is sold in many countries and that is fine.

Hi, it's called Red Kite Alimento Hamster, I haven't seen Harry or Hazel Hamster but to be fair I haven't been to a pet store in a while so I am going to go and check again. To answer which country I live in.. is Mexico , and a lot of brands do not want to ship out here since I think that would mean shipping to almost all Latin American countries......this makes me wish sometimes that I lived in the US

Re: Questioning a potentially dangerous hamster food
I don't know what brands you can get in Mexico. Can you buy things from Amazon in Mexico? It's actually hard to find good hamster mixes in the US as well. Most of the best ones in the Uk come from Germany! Harry Hamster or Hazel Hamster are identical in content - Harry is the Uk brand and Hazel is the US brand both are fine. Whatever you find check the ingredients list. Definitely not one with BHA and BHT. If you can find something half decent then we can advise on supplementing it.

I tried checking on Amazon but they don't allow them to be shipped here , I don't know why.It just says to me that they are not allowed to ship them?????
Finding quality food here is harder then in the US....I think.

Re: Questioning a potentially dangerous hamster food
If the worst comes to the worst you could probably make your own mix - it isn't easy but I'm sure there are people on here could help.
