Question Mealworms! And Overeating?

So I FINALLY Got some mealworms yesterday.

When I opened the bag to give one to Tofu and saw all the mealworms I couldn't help but shiver and take a jump back (ew) and then left one in her cage. When I came back from washing my hands she'd taken it off somewhere and when I cleaned her cage this morning I couldn't find it.
I think feeding her mealworms will get easier with time. I gave her another one today and I didn't have such a reaction to opening the bag.

Also talking about cleaning her cage out. I clean her cage out every 2 or 2 and a half weeks and I find very very little food stashed. Like maybe 3 or 4 pieces of half eaten mix. I give her 2 and a half teaspoons of food a day and she takes most of her food out of her food bowl by the next day. Is she eating too much? My syrian always had massive stashes (now i'm worrying my Syrian never ate enough, he was a slim boy of about 120g throughout his life).
Anyway is my roborovski eating too much?

As long as you are following the feeding guides found on the bag of the mix your ham probably isn't eating. btw, I was just like you when I first started feeding mealworms but it does get easier

I usually feed Gaby about around two mealworms everyday. Dried mealworms. I found this video to be helpful.

It does sound quite a lot although that will depend on what you're feeding, as long as she's active & healthy she'll be fine, it's very rare for hamsters to overeat if they have a good diet.

Lol, I still get a bit squeamish sticking my hand into a container of mealworms after 14 1/2 months! I do it for Eros anyway because that is one of her absolute favorite foods.

For mealworms, I have blue plastic pincers, they do wonderfully. I am a scientist, a biologist, but there is something extremely gross about mealworms!
