Exclamation Help- hamster eaten unknown amount of milk chocolate:(((

Hi there, I’m new to this forum so I might be posting this in the wrong place.

My hamster JJ escaped from her ball last night which has never happened before. I didn’t realise until I went to put her away. But she went under my bed and must have found an old Easter egg and filled up her pouches with chocolate. So I have no idea how much she has consumed. She managed to get all of the chocolate out of her pouches because obviously that had melted. But she hasn’t been her self since. Last night she ate other food and had water but tonight she is refusing food and water and she wants to sleep all the time. She just seems really drowsy. I’ve done some research and can’t see any signs of diarrhoea. I’ve also given her fresh vegetables.

Has anyone got any advice ???

Thank you,
From JJ and I

Chocolate is toxic to hamsters so I would say you need to see a vet with her pretty urgently. I'm not sure if it may be possible to flush it out her system. They can certainly flush the pouches.
I hope she rallies round for you.

Aww I hope she recovers well. Sounds pretty cheeky
You might know that some people don't recommend using hamster balls. I do use balls, ensuring my hammies aren't in there for longer than 20 minutes, and I always tape the lid shut! (Once I walked into the room just in time to see the lid pop off my hammies ball and I've never wanted to risk it again )
