Default Mineral stone?

Hi all. Ares chewed-er, destroyed his last chew stick today. The pet store also told us they're out. Can he use a mineral stone in the meantime? The one I intend to use is a Jolly Pets one. I checked the ingredients for something particularly harmful to hamsters and found nothing. Can he use the stone for now? If he has nothing to chew he'll chew the cage bars which is incredibly annoying.

Mineral stones are best avoided,
Can you get a whimzee dog chew? That will last him quite a while & is a favourite with most hams.

Unfortunately don't have access to a dog chew. We'll all just have to tough it out until there are chew sticks.

If he chews the bars you could try putting cardboard through them so he can chew that instead, maybe make some toilet roll treat toys to hide his food in or just scatter feed if you don't already to keep him busy & distracted.

Not knowing better I bought Salt wheel blocks. Nervous Nellie and Scaredy Cat just push it around. What a waste. Wish they were not allowed to sell products that are not even good for pets.

Okay, so my cousin had an extra mineral stone and I let Ares check it out. He is now chewing away. He bit me when I tried to remove it....
Update: He’s SLEEPING on it..

Ha. Don't let him have it too many days in a row as I heard there could be issues with it but don't know details. If you craftily substitute his fav chew you might be able to sneak it away

OK, I distracted him with a chunk of carrot and tried to take it out.. but her heard it clanging against the cage bars and bit me. At least I got it out.
