Smile Treat n' Gnaw log (rosewood) is it safe

I was just wondering if the Treat n' Gnaw log (rosewood) is it safe to consume, my only concern is it doesn't tell me what wood. It just says edible wood. Anyone know ?

I tend to think Rosewood things are safe, but I also had concerns about that, because I think "wood" is a load of shavings or sawdust compressed with something. And that particular item is probably no better than all the other similar things. I am sure it is supposed to be safe but personally I don't like the idea of them eating a load of sawdust! Plenty of other things they can chew and play with.

Rosewood are generally a reliable company but I'd have my doubts about something that says "wood" & is very probably as Serendipity says compressed sawdust with unspecified ingredients so I'd give it a miss & go for something else.

The Rosewood treat n gnaw log doesn’t look like the snak shack edible logs (which have compressed sawdust in them) so they may be ok.

Rosewood is a safe company, my bet is it's fine. Though wood sounds scary I think its safe.

I'd lean towards the side of not safe.Rosewood may be considered a decent company, but that doesn't mean every single product they make is automatically safe!

I personally would say not safe due to the ingredients of what the edible log is made from. Although most rosewood product are safe they do sell some product which aren’t suitable. Instead I would recommend these instead - Rosewood Nibble Woodrolls (p@h also sells them to) - these are a big favourite with my hamsters!
