Default Should I give my hammy hay?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what to do, I bought some hay for my little guy cuz I read it was good for his teeth and nutrition but then I read it can damage his pouches so I removed it, but I think he liked it
I also read that cutting the middle out and giving him that was OK, cam Amy one advice? Thank you all

You need to go through & take out any sharp bits that could damage pouches, the softer hay that's left is then fine to use but should really be frozen for a minimum of 48hrs (I do mine for a week) in case of any bugs, mites or eggs that could be in it.
They rarely eat much of it really but it can still be a nice addition to the cage.
