Question Beans - Cooked or Raw?

I read somewhere that “certain sorts” of bean cannot be fed raw. But, annoyingly, the website did not say which “certain sorts” of bean these were.

So, my question is: what sorts of bean cannot be fed raw?

Also, can the following types of bean be fed raw:

- Fine bean
- Green bean
- Runner bean
- Sugarsnap peas (don’t know if this one counts as a bean per say)

Not entirely sure about runner beans tbh as I never use them but mine have all the others raw.

I used to feed runner bean raw until I read that it should be cooked. So although there did not seem to be a problem, I stopped raw and Mocho still loves them cooked. Like cypher I give sugarsnap raw like peas and mangetout. Beans Mocho turned his nose up at first so never bothered again!

Thank you cypher and coco. So, I can feed all these things raw except for Runner beans, then?

MH is a fuss pot, he loves all of those but won't eat them raw.

Daisy and Cotton have been eating raw runner beans. Does it matter, does it make a difference if they're eating the pods or the green bits?
