Default Fiber

So I've been trying to give my hamster a balanced diet and give her all nutrients she needs, but I feel like her food mix is low in fiber. I was just wondering what can I add to her diet to boost it?

Feeding vegetables would add fiber. You could also cook certain grains to create natural treats, for example using plain boiled brown rice as a base and adding a customized hamster safe plain vegetable blend This would also help to fill out potential dietary gaps as long as you're using a variety of vegetables in rotation to get the broadest spectrum of nutrients possible, and of course add enrichment.

I mix oxbow garden select hamster and gerbil food into my mix for my hamsters. If you weigh things out correctly and control proportions, you can get a good amount of fiber. However, feeding veggies daily can also aid in this Best wishes

How much fibre is in your mix?
Veg will provide some fibre along with other nutrients so they're good to feed, flax seeds are high in fibre as are nuts, most natural hamster foods, seeds, nuts etc (all fed in moderation) are plenty high enough in fibre but the main source should be your mix.

Fiber is only 5,6% in my food mix and I give her fresh veggies regularly. I just want to make sure she has all of the recommended amounts of nutrients in her mix.
Thank you! Information is helpful and you helped me a lot.
