Turns out I made a very silly mistake(puppy brain does that to you)and misread,it's dehydration on its own(not freeze drying or air drying)that uses heat!

You'd see a symbol clearly stating the product has been treated with irradiation.I'm not too sure if there'd be a different symbol in the UK than what we have in the US,but if in doubt posting a picture or several of the back of the bag if you can would help determine if it is or is not irradiated.

Ahhhh I feel so confused and overwhelmed!! Lol this is silly I know. I am probably agonising over this too much, but I want Quigley to be as healthy as possible. I wish I knew which meats to feed and whether I should be feeding freeze dried - and now also how I know if something is irradiated!!!!

Cypher that made me laugh. Maybe I should find me some beetles (joking, don’t worry!). Having said that, seeing how much Quigley hates mealworms I don’t think he’d like them.

Ok, so air dried chicken would be nutritionally equal to freeze dried then?

Will have a look for that irradiation symbol. Praying I don’t find it as I have been feeding Quigley these since I got him.

It's never easy to get into this sort of thing and learn about the subject, since there are so many different things to avoid.Air dried should be fine as it would be equal as we now know!

If you do end up finding the symbol(which hopefully you don't),don't feel too bad.Mistakes can happen to anyone(including myself and many others on the forum).

Thanks Amity

Well, I've had a look and can't see anything which would suggest irradiation. Here are pictures of the pack just in case:

It looks fine! Those are still usable in this case,as they're not irradiated, but it is definitely something to just keep in mind in the future with other brands.

Should be fine, as they're from Germany, and over here in Europe we don't allow irradiated foodstuffs.

I know that there have been German products(country of origin was "Germany or Romania" in two products, with one that only originated in Germany and was still irradiated)I've seen which were irradiated, but that's coming to the US so it could be regulated differently than things which are sold directly(such as through Zooplus).
