What are good taming treats for Robos
I'm planning on getting a Roboroski hamster soon but I don't know what treats to tame it with. Since they are so small I don't know what treats to use for taming and since the treats have to be healthy, because it will most likely take awhile to tame the hamster, so I don't want the taming treats to be unhealthy when used a lot. Thank you!

Re: What are good taming treats for Robos
For any species of hamster, it is best to avoid commercial treats which are loaded with junk. I tend to use freeze-dried chicken, fruit or vegetables, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, flaxseeds or nuts as treats as they are healthy enough. Variety is the key with taming treats to stop them becoming unhealthy.

I agree with chesca, I'd just like to add that my robo loves mealworms, they make wonderful treats too. I also offer plain Cheerios as well and these are downed in an instant

Re: What are good taming treats for Robos
The advice given above is fantastic, I needn't add much but I'll tell you what my experience is with my two robos.
For my robos I mainly use organic unsalted raw pumpkin seeds. They both go crazy for them! They also love millet- I will just pull one of the small "nuggets" or chunks off of the branch and offer it in my hand. The only commercial treat I've used is the Oxbow freeze dried bananas (but just a small chunk, never the whole thing) because the only ingredient is bananas. They aren't very crazy over those though. Unsalted Sunflower seeds also make fantastic taming treats.
