Homemade hanging chew ring
Just made Lil some chew treats (inspired by ErinsAnimals) and thought i'd share the recipe and results.
bananabisc.jpg
This recipe makes 6 ping pong ball sized rings
- 2 tbsp rolled oats
- 1/2 ripe banana, mashed
- 1 tbsp peanut butter (I used whole earth - no added sugar)
- 3 tbsp muesli mix
- optional: added seeds, nuts etc
- enough water to combine mixture
combine all of the above, roll into balls, flatten slightly, poke a hole in the middle, bake for about 15/20 minutes on moderate heat until firm.
I've hung one up for now. Looking forward to Lil's review

Re: Homemade hanging chew ring
Neat idea! Not sure if my boys would have much interest in them but I am making Key Lime a large platform in his cage which I hope to put some hooks on the bottom so I can hang some toys. Hope Lil likes them!

Those look amazing! You certainly are talented with baking. I could never make anything even half as good, let us know how Lil likes them

They look amazing! I'm looking forward to Lil's review, I think it'll be a favorable one I'm terrible at baking but I might give these a try and see what my hammies think.

Re: Homemade hanging chew ring
I didn't manage to witness it, but Lil has eaten about half of her hanging treat. I'd say that's pretty good going for a 10 week old ham
