Default Can Syrian hamsters eat rabbit chew sticks?

Hi guys.
This seems a really silly question, I accidentally bought kräcker by vitakraft rabbit chew sticks. Although it doesn't actually say for rabbits but theres a rabbit on it. Its popcorn and honey. By the looks of it it's german.

Would this be safe for my hamsters to eat?

It really depends on the ingredients. If the ingredients are poor quality or unsafe,it wouldn't be okay, but if they're high quality ingredients that are 100% safe it might be fine.

As amity said knowing exactly what's in it will help determine if it's safe.

IMO popcorn covered in honey might get stuck to your hamster's teeth and cheek pouches. I may be incorrect though.

Thanks all, still unsure about it because i agree logically it could get stuck in their teeth. It has cereals (popcorn 15.8%) minerals, honey (0.77%) and contains colourings and preservatives. In the big picture they're both herbivores the same food eaters but still unsure. Not sure how to add a reply as an image

You could hold the stick and let her nibble a small amount, then take it away. Only let her have small amounts and only let her have some occasionally.

Unspecified colourants and preservatives are a big safety risk Unfortunately E&C approved doesn't even mean something is safe, since it is in reality a loophole term that does allow food to contain BHA/BHT/ethoxyquin which are known to cause cancer without the manufacturer having to actually say so.

They definitely wouldn't be rabbit safe(cereals and honey would both be terrible for rabbits, even if safe for hamsters as long as the cereals are entirely specified). They aren't too healthy for hamsters either, and there are much better options on the market(and hamsters are omnivores not herbivores by the way).

I'd agree, honey for rabbits at least is no good. Honey is something I'd only offer (if ever) to a Syrian or robo, and only very rarely. It's sweet and sticky, and there are other good treats out there. To answer the question in general though, hamsters can eat treats marketed for (almost) any animal granted they contain hamster safe ingredients and no unsafe preservatives or additives

Apart from the unhealthy ingredients if this is for rabbits then it's best not to use it, I don't know if it's still true but there is a bit in the Wiki section which advises against giving rabbit treats to hams.
Quote from Wiki.
The one important thing to remember is to not buy treats specifically designed for rabbits. Rabbits can often carry a parasite called Coccidia and so most products manufactured for rabbits contain a drug to combat this parasite. Hamsters dont seem to be able to get coccidia or are very unlikely to come into contact with it and so dont need this drug. This drug will actually make them very sick.
