Re: safe treats?
Hello! I personally wouldn't recommend either of those treats due to the fact that they're made by milkbone. The company is notorious for including BHA in their products which is a known carcinogen. Amityvillehams compiled an excellent list on diabetes friendly dog treats if you'd like to check that out for more ideas Best wishes

Re: safe treats?
Make sure to avoid anything by a company which isn't reputable. Here in the US we have Evanger's and Diamond which are both incredibly questionable,so those would definitely be good to avoid.Another company to avoid would be Scott Pet Products, which sadly despite having products which claim to be made in the USA even have products which have caused serious health problems.
There might be some new products on Chewy that aren't on the list, but it is a great general guideline to go by with all sorts of products!

I'm pretty particular about what I give Butternut so I usually stick to organic apple sticks and avoid anything not natural or with paints, dyes, etc. Good luck!
