I personally give a tablespoon every 24-48 hours (so the one on the left) unless Duncan is being picky. I wouldn't really worry over it to be honest. As long as she seems healthy and happy, then there isn't really anything to worry over

She has put on 68g in 2 weeks! Where is she putting it?? I dont understand haha. Especially as she now runs a half marathon every night in her big wheel. She is otherwise fine is herself, if a lot calmer and not as "zoomy" but i put that down to burning off her zoom in the wheel.

Are you 100% sure you're weighing her correctly? To be honest, I'm not quite sure it's physically possible to put on that much weight without health issues! Does she show any other odd symptoms? Perhaps drinking more? Anything else that might concern you even if it seems unrelated

Maube I am being an absolute plum and not reading the scales right. Im not good with stuff like that.

Apart from her being not as hyper since I moved her into her new cage, no not really. She did drink a bit from her bottle about 3 days ago after I put her back in her cage, but I havent noticed anythinf else since then.

It's still quite odd to me that she has gained 68 grams with no adverse symptoms

If she seems healthy enough, in my opinion, I'd let it go. However, if you feel really concerned or she seems ill at all, there's no harm in a vet trip

Ok, so I was worried about "the rapid weight gain" from the last weigh in so i booked her into the vets for a general check up. Needless to say my home scales are SLIGHTLY wrong! She actually weighs 160 grams not what my stupid scales said. What a relief! I thought I had been abusing my hamster by over feeding her. I can relax a bit now.

It might seem daft to some people that I took her to the vets for that, but I also wanted to make sure she is in good condition as well, as she has never had a health check since ive had her. Vet listened to her heart as well and said she is in perfect condition. Just what a first time overprotective hammy parent needs to hear haha. She asked me about her diet and we had a chat about other stuff, but most of it I already knew thanks to everyone on here!

And relax...

You did the right thing and now you know that's she's perfectly healthy and a nice weight.

You're not daft! You're a caring and loving hammy owner. 160 grams is a great weight.
