Default water bottle height

ratchet loves his cage and his new huge trixie wheel. i am wondering how high do i put his water bottle. should he reach up to drink or crouch a bit.

I always put it so my ham can sit comfortably and drink. Having it too high up makes them have to stand and work to get their water which can discourage them taking as many drinks as they could need. However, having it too low can cause stress and strain on their necks as they attempt to reach it. Aim for a happy medium between these two scenarios

Agreed with Drago. My two either stand on all four legs or sit on their back legs to drink from their bottle, so depending on how your hamster likes to drink I'd aim between the sitting head height and the standing head height of your particular hamster.
