I think sprouts will be on the menu here tonight!
Four little forests of "Shelled Warrior" mix ready to go.

I overfilled my latest saucer mix a bit, they're erupting like little volcanoes throwing sand all over the table

Your sprouts look really good and I'm sure all your hamster will enjoy themselves tonight. Pumpkin will have to wait a while longer for her next batch as I have just sown them today.

lol! Lizzy, you should have a go, if you can cook up a gourmet meal for Harvey I'm sure you can grow one too

BorisPasha, nobody has woken up yet but I'm sure they'll be tucking in soon! I think these have been growing about a week now.

I'm sure Pumpkin will think it worth the wait SKB

Your sprouts seem to be growing better and faster than mine then mine are a week old tomorrow and some are bushy and short and others are patchy and short this time lol. The black quinoa went down a treat with Artie and Pasha (they were the only 2 up and about, they smell food from 100 miles away!). Pasha enjoyed it so much he leapt out on to my hand and jumped in to the strainer lol.

Hope your red quinoa went down well

Yes Lizzy you should definitely try it Harvey would love you even more than he already does, think of all those extra whisker kisses you'd get :P

lol! @ Pasha's enthusiasm So pleased to hear the boys enjoyed, Boris & Jaska don't know what they missed, that is I'm guessing Archie & Pasha didn't leave them any

It's the grow light that works miracles with my sprouts, if I depended on Welsh daylight they probably wouldn't grow that well in a month!

Yes Lizzy, you should try it!! Harvey doesn't need sprouts with his super meals, but I'm sure he would enjoy them anyway!

I would have love to watch Artie and Jaska with their sprouts, they sound lovely.

I need to get those Shelled Warrior seeds. I've sent an email to the seller to see if it would be possible to send it to Spain. They look awesome!!

My spelt is growing reaaaaallly slowly. It's been five? six? days and I only can see a bunch of roots everywhere and then little tails (like the one that it's shown in cypher's last picture, in the middle upfront). They doesn't look tasty at all. Here it's been cloudy and rainy all days, so it's not the perfect weather to grow anything really, but hey! at least I didn't kill these ones

Jaska and Boris had some quinoa last night and it went down well, so just Max to try it now. When you said a 1/4 tspn for the quinoa Cypher did you mean a 1/4 for each ham or 1/4 does your 4? Don't want to be overfeeding them lol.

Thought I'd share a picture of my sprouts. They've been growing a week now sitting on my north facing kitchen window sill (they end up growing at an angle trying to reach the daylight! so I need to get something better to sit them in than the plate).

One day, one day I might manage to grow some that look as nice as Cyphers

They look lovely BP! For a north facing window at this time of year they've grown better than I would have expected tbh, look really tasty

I meant 1/4 tsp of quinoa between 4 hams, not that much each, it's not something I feed a lot of, usually just a little once a week.
Good to hear Jaska & Boris got to taste some, hope Max enjoys them too.

Hamsterita it may just be the way you're growing your spelt, I either just germinate it in the sprout jar & feed it when only a small root "tail" is showing or I plant it in the sand, maybe yours won't grow much more as there's nowhere for the roots to grow.
It's not the best time of year really, everything will be growing like mad come summer
