Default What veggies are safe for syrians?

Hi everyone.

At the minute I feed Khaleesi harry hamster mix everyday and carrots and brocolli every couple of days. Ive just bought a bag of pumpkin seeds to use as treats instead of apple drops and Im currently on the lookout for whole walnuts for her as a weekly treat.

What other vegetables are safe to suppliment her with? (If there is already a list on here somewhere, I apologise I havent found it).

I also believe I can feed her bit of cooked chicken and dried mealworms. Is it ok for me to get her a packet of the plain ready to eat chicken chunks? (My sis gets this for her rats).

Lastly (I promise this is the last question haha) I have found these dried carrot chip things. Are they ok for her or do I have to eat them instead?

Thanks in advance x

Spinach, blueberries, banana, strawberries, celery, cooked sweet potato, kale, grapes, apple, endives, bok choy, and many other vegetables and fruits work excellently!

I'd only give her maybe one or two chips max as they are likely salty and oily and processed foods aren't good for hams anyways! Chicken chunks would be just fine for her as long as they're not salted or seasoned

There is a list of safe veg & other foods here on the site wiki link is top left of the page.Common fresh foods for your hamster - Hamster Central WIKI
If you look at the ingredients on those carrot chips it says concentrated lemon juice so no your ham can't eat them.
Plain dried chicken is fine as long as that's all it is, always read ingredients on things to be sure.

Most vegetables are quite safe for hamsters. Favourites of mine include broccoli, carrot, kale, peas, snap peas, beans, bell peppers, herbs (parsley, cilantro, basil).

Fruit wise, we feed apple, pear, peach, blueberries, bananas, raspberries.

We also give plain chicken breast, plain lean ground beef, plain turkey, meal worms (though only one Syrian actually enjoys them), and eggs. Usually I mix veggies into eggs for them.

They can also have legumes and non-meat proteins; tofu, lentils, seeds and many beans are fine. Kidney beans are not safe, and most beans do need to be lightly roasted (we roast our black turtle beans @ 350 for 10 minutes).

Thanks for your help everyone. I have saved both of those lists, so gives me lots of good ideas what to give her.
