I used the Versele-Laga Complete Hamster and Gerbil for a while, when I had the moth problems with the Harry Hamster while I couldn't buy the new bag. At the beginning he didn't like it, and when he saw that that's the only food he was going to get he started to eat it. Now he likes it, sometimes I mix those pellets with the Harry Hamsters and he even eats those pellets before that some bits in the Harry Hamster, so I suppose that in the end he liked them.

The main problem with the Versele Laga is that its fibre content it's a little bit low, so he would need an extra boost of fibre in his diet.

If I could, I would try to buy the Science Selective. If he doesn't like it, if he sees that's the only food that he's going to have, he'll probably eat it. They are not dumb, they aren't going to starve to death, they usually are picky because in the end they know that they are going to have something else

I tried the tough love approach and he did actually starve himself for several days, until i got too worried to continue.
