Default Is okra okay?

I was at the store today and for some reason I thought I remembered giving my hamster okra in the past so I bought some for him, but when I went to check the list I usually reference to make sure it was okay, okra wasn't mentioned.

So, is okra safe for hamsters? He's an unpedigreed winter white, although I don't think that makes a difference in this case.

"Hamsters can eat okra, but only in small amounts on a very occasional basis. This is due to the high water content and acidic content that it has. " - Can Hamsters Eat Okra? - Online Hamster Care

I wouldn't feed okra personally, since there are many foods that could be fed more frequently in higher amounts that would have more health benefits. An example of this would be broccoli, which is honestly like a crazy superfood which is extremely healthy for humans and hamsters with its high protein(and for humans it doesn't have all the negatives of lots of meat).

I live in Japan and the veggie options here are so limited and expensive, unfortunately. I'll give my ham some more frozen broccoli, since the fresh stuff is super expensive.

I've seen okra on the safe list of ham foods on a few different sources & nothing that I've found suggests it shouldn't be given.
The main thing with veg is to provide as much variety as possible within the safe range & if you are limited in what you can offer then I don't see a reason why a little okra once in a while shouldn't be ok.

Thanks for the help! In the end I put a little bit in his cage, but gave him some broccoli too.
