Lightbulb Are there any vegan hamster foods?

Hello, everyone! I'm not looking to make my two hammies vegan (I'll still feed animal protein in the form of insects), but I do want to avoid animal derived ingredients (vitamins and additives included) from commercial operations, so I was just wondering if there were any?

Finding a completely vegan hamster food is both pointless and most likely impossible. There are quite a few hamster foods with animal protein which unfortunately ends up having not so good additives,so I can understand avoiding those, but in the end hamsters are not vegan and wouldn't have the amazing benefits humans can have so beyond personal morals there would be no reason to do so and no health benefits for hamsters either.

If you plan on giving them insects anyway (they do need animal protein) do you just mean you want to avoid meat by products & dairy in the mix?
No mix I'm aware of actually says anything about the source of added vitamins so there's no way of knowing about that.
I don't think Harry Hamster which is the most popular mix for syrians has any animal or dairy additives but not totally sure the same goes for Burgess dwarf hamster harvest if you're looking for a dwarf food.
If you wanted an entirely natural mix I would imagine your only hope would be either Rodipet or Mixerama.

I have just had a look at the ingredients of the Supreme science Selective (link below) that I use in conjunction with a couple of other things for my ham and that one is vegan, mainly made of soybean meal, barley and oats. I also give my ham vegan dog kibble as part of his diet, he loves those and they are from an ethical source.

Harry Hamster would be perfect for a Syrian,or for a dwarf the best food would be Burgess dwarf food as the pieces are smaller so you wouldn't have to do any work like with Harry Hamster to make it work for tiny mouths They're both very good quality foods, though I will say Burgess is at times hit and miss like their Syrian food, rat food, and other small pet food not being that good, though they do have some really nice products!
