Hamster food without biscuits
My hybrids won't eat the biscuit pieces that come in their food so I was wondering if you can buy hamster food in the UK that is just seeds and stuff since it seems like a waste to buy food they're not eating.

Re: Hamster food without biscuits
Burgess dwarf hamster harvest is a good mix that doesn't have biscuit bits in it, the biscuits in some mixes are too big for some dwarf hams to manage easily & may need to be broken up in a pestle & mortar.

Re: Hamster food without biscuits
I definitely agree on Burgess dwarf hamster harvest I've personally never heard of anything better. The nutrition is great, the composition is completely suitable, and there are no unsafe preservatives or unnecessary additives.

Re: Hamster food without biscuits
The Burgess food tends to be thought of as one of the better dwarf hamster foods and it seems to suit most hamsters quite well. I recently bought some whilst Victoria was pregnant so that her pups would have some smaller pieces to eat when they were ready for solid foods and they certainly got through it!
I've found that most of it gets eaten although I've known hamsters to leave some of the brown grass pellet sticks.

Re: Hamster food without biscuits
I think pellet type ingredients can be hit and miss with hamsters! However,in some foods they're extremely important for hamsters to eat as they can and often do contain vitamins and minerals. There might be a high quality pellet that if necessary could be added, though it would kind of defeat the purpose, but the main focus is to get proper nutrition and that means making sure vitamins and minerals and such are in balance as well.
