What more can I give them?
Hello everyone, it's been a while!!
I feed Pixie and Tinkerbell a base food mix of Burgess Dwarf Hamster Harvest and JR Farm Feast for dwarfs with a couple of the Science Selective Hamster heart biscuits. They get added mealworms, millet seeds added in too, they also get the occasional sunflower and pumpkin seeds. They also get a one of a variety of fresh veg every couple of days too.
I was looking for another premade hamster mix that I can add into, or eventually replace the Burgess Dwarf Hamster Harvest & JR Farm Feast. They seem to be eating less and less of the base food so I wanted to find something to change it up with or add into it to make it less repetitive.
If I was to make my own food where would be a good starting point? I've heard that budgie seed premix is good as a start, but what seeds specifically etc would I need to use in a home made mix. I plan on getting the seeds online from an Amazon seller who sells at wholesale prices, so I can get a decent variety of seeds I just don't know where to start.
Thanks

Re: What more can I give them?
Making your own food isn't easy & takes a lot of thought, if you have a read through this thread it might help.
Has anyone ever made their own hamster food?

Re: What more can I give them?
Burgess & JR farms are both good but another one to try that I like & the hams enjoy is the Bunny Dwarf HamsterDream Basic I haven't come across any other good dwarf mixes in the UK.

Re: What more can I give them?
Thank you! That food is on my to buy list on Friday, I'll add it into what I have, see how it goes and if they prefer it I'll slowly get that one to be their sole base food.
Thank you! x
