Hi Jasmine. What is the base mix you feed? Burgess Dwarf food mix is usually a favourite of dwarf hamsters. It does contain millet seeds in the form of canary seed mix, but it`s unusual for a wee robo not to enjoy millet seeds. I have an older Russian dwarf male and feed him on the Zooplus JR Farm Dwarf food although I am switching him onto the Burgess Dwarf food as the prices on Zooplus are cheap, it becomes steep when you have to spend over £15 just to buy a few bags of food!

Of the wee robos I`ve kept, they all enjoyed a variety of foods really. So foods like both the Burgess hamster mixes (the normal hamster mix or the Dwarf version or both combined), Zooplus Dwarf mixes and Supreme Science Selective which are heart shaped biscuits that can be tapped easily and broken up for a robo. This is a complete food but I like having a bag in just to add a biscuit into the mix since some of those extruded biscuits in other hamster foods barely get touched. The Science Selective smells like gravy and seems to be enjoyed. It`s can also be used to be fed soft (water added) to mash up with crushed nuts or as a yummy treat!

Thank you phinox, I will try seseame seeds.

Swift has JR farm dwarf racinghamster, so maybe she has enough in the actual food when it comes to millet?

I'm just trying to find something she really likes to help with the taming process and just to give her a bit more variety (though I do know not to feed too much in a week)

Having used various foods myself for dwarf hamsters ranging from robos, a Chinese and now a Russian dwarf, they all do enjoy the millet varieties within foods like the Zooplus JR mix and Burgess Dwarf food. Admittedly, I find the other bits in the JR food isn`t eaten like the coloured biscuits and the flaked grains. I have a bag of Burgess Dwarf mix coming today. It has pea flakes and millets. It`s is not dissimilar to the JR dwarf mix in that respect, but apart from the small dried shrimp in the JR mix, I find most of the seeds don`t get eaten anyway apart from the millet, which is why I`m switching to the Burgess Dwarf food now as it`s easier to get hold of too. x
