Hello all,
So today I finally went into Pets at Home and bought Nutmeg's food for when I am away and the new mixes. So apart from the Supa hamster Dwarf Harvest by Burgess (I bought 3 bags) I bought 2 bags of Harry Hamster and a single bag of Nature's Touch Hamster. I decided I will mix the three types together. I was originally going to buy just DHH and HH but added the Nature's Touch as it contains loads of FIBRE.
Here is what each of the brands contain % wise:
Dwarf Hamster Harvest:
Protein: 17.5%
Fat: 6%
Crude Fibre: 9%
Crude Ash: 6%
Harry Hamster:
Protein: 18%
Fat: 6%
Crude Fibre: 6%
Inorganic matter: 5%
calcium: 0.8%
Phosphorus: 0.6%
Nature's Touch
Protein: 15%
Crude Oils and Fats: 6.5%
Crude Fibre: 15%!!!
Crude Ash: 10%
Moisture: 10%
A slight note in the Nature's Touch (NT) there is dried carrot, apple and coconut so I will need to remove that as Nutmeg is prone to diabetes but it is mainly a barley, wheat based food.
My new mix (I am calling it the Nutmeg Mix) will be 2/5 DHH, 2/5 HH and 1/5 NT, protein substitute will be more mealworms, will I need to add this or any additional fibre? Also I know how to replace a hamster's diet but is that the same with mixing but I don't replace the food, I do it gradually I know.
I had to buy so much as I am on holiday on 2 weeks and a family friend is having Nutmeg for that time so I want to make sure she has enough food XD
Here is a pic of the bags:

Also does anybody remember the Pet Shop Visit Thread where I stated that the Winter white and robo were left well I went to check and the Winter White had gone but the poor Robo was still there, poor thing, I said to them that they will find a home soon, there was also a grey coloured Syrian hammie up for adoption but at the moment I am only sticking with one hamster
