Humans eating mealworms!
Eek! I was looking up freeze dried mealworms and came across "Crunchy Critters" - just look at the reviews! People are eating them as healthy crunchy snacks - urgh! And there are even questions like "are these gluten free" and claims that mealworms taste like popcorn! Whatever next.

Haha when I was a kid there was a fad of chocolate covered insects, I remember trying the ants but I am sure there were others. Just a bit of crunch.

Re: Humans eating mealworms!
I don't think Sherbet needs to worry about me eating her mealworms, I don't mind letting her enjoy them all!
But in fact insects are a better energy and protein source than meat, although you would need to eat lots of them, probably something like 100 or more to be equivalent to a peice of chicken.
I was looking at the other pictures of the one you linked but the locusts look massive compared to the other, I wouldn't be able to eat insects especially as the heads are still on them and they look like they alive. (I can't eat fish for the same reason).

Re: Humans eating mealworms!
When I was in high school my friend had a leopard gecko, so there was mealworms etc for it in her house. One night her Uncle was over made a bet with her dad to eat the mealworms and he did 😱 I was horrified when I heard this. I can't believe people would eat them as a snack on their own free will!

Re: Humans eating mealworms!
In certain countries they eat crickets and other insects as a snack. It's quite normal in these countries.
