Default Almonds?

I am confused about almonds. Are they safe or not? Lots of people say no, but have also seen a lot of people give this toy their hamster, but it says it has an almond in the middle?!

It depends on what type of almond.Certain almonds are safe while others are not,and I remember sweet almonds definitely being unsafe but hopefully someone else has an in depth list of which ones are safe and unsafe

I believe it is that sweet almonds are safe and bitter are not as they contain cyanide compounds? Don't take that as gospel.

So is that toy ok? I want to get it for Sweep ... Though I believe they come apart easily so I could always put something else in the middle I guess

I think it should be ok or you can get the same toy without the nut and put whatever Sweep likes as the treatin the middle.

Pets at home near me have them. Some come with a nut, some come with a wooden ball and some come with nothing. In the middle.

Other pet shops may sell them and you an get them from other places on the internet.

Ah ok thanks. Think I've seen the wooden ball ones but the ball looks tiny and my fear would be of Sweep swallowing it! Or pouching it ... Will take a look thanks. But someone said you can easily take them apart anyway so if I did get one with the nut in I could (hopefully!) just remove it!
