Throw away??

I emailed RR as the order I received the other day had no use by dates on. They emailed back with dates for only a few, but one says 2014 (pinhead oatmeal) and one says 2011 (bran sticks). I'm assuming Sweep can't have these, or are they still ok as they are in sealed bags and have no ingedients in that go bad? Haven't opened either yet, so can just throw them away!

Things like that don't really go bad although oatmeal is fairly high in fat & could get rancid but any food even dry will lose nutritional value over time so no point in feeding them.

Surely you can get a refund! I can't believe they're selling food that far past the date, that's really bad!

They also sell unsafe nesting material(cotton)so I don't think dates are the worst they've done

I just noticed a few of the other dates they gave me are out of date too

I didn't get dates for everything though so wondering whether that is because they are REALLY out of date or if they just don't know them ... Going to have to throw all those items away!

If you only just bought these recently I would contact them again & ask for a refund.

I did, and they replied that they are typos, and they either end this year or next ... I'm not sure if I am convinced though!

That's not very helpful which surprises me with them tbh, however I have been buying from them for years & never had a problem with any food items if that's any consolation!

Thanks. I've never had a problem before but just saw none of the items I had this time had dates on! Inusually ask them to add the date on so I may have forgotten this time, but now I don't know what to do. If it was just one or two that had the wrong the date I might believe them if they said it was a typo. The fact that out the the dates they gave me, almost half appear to be out of date, is what is concerning me! Though a few I am confused about, as one says May 11, so am unsure if this is May the 11th or May 2011! Several others like that too! Grrrr and some of it I have already given to Sweep!
