Re: What do you feed your hamsters:
I would get a small bag of mealworms to try. Syrians seem not to like them as much a dwarf species.

Re: What do you feed your hamsters:
Mine are currently using up some leftovers of Harry Hamster minus the extruded wheat biscuits, Science Selective and Pets at Home Nuggets. There's also a little bit of a premade seed mix I bought too and it seems to go down better than any of the pre-prepared mixes. It might not be 100% balanced but James is looking in such good condition at the moment.
They get a couple of seeds as a treat plus dried mealworms which I buy loose from a local pet shop as well as the odd dog biscuit. My box of hamster food stuffs is pretty full at the moment, they have more than I do!

Re: What do you feed your hamsters:
My Syrian and Robo eat the same. Burgess Supahamster and Science Selective pellets as their 'base' - with extras like oats, millet, canary seed, flax seed, extra sunflower seeds, herbage mix, mealworms, dog kibble and dry pasta added.
Then they get a piece of veg every day, the odd bit of fruit, the occasional piece of plain chicken or tiny blob of natural yoghurt. There is always a hard biscuit and/or dog chew in their cages for their teeth.

So many diets, so little time. Tons of ideas from this.

My current base mix is Mayfield which I've used for a few years. I tried others over the years including Burgess dwarf (a bit too millet heavy for my purposes), Harry (nice but a little too rich with my additions and too many big bits for my hams' liking) and Best Pets (didn't suit my hams in maintaining condition). I wouldn't feed Mayfield without additions though, whereas if I run low on my extra additions I'd feed Harry plain until the delivery arrives.
The extras I use are: mixed millet, dari seeds, hemp seeds, linseed, oats/pinhead oatmeal, kitten kibble, pigeon conditioner and budgie tonic seed. I don't add all of these each time I mix up a batch - it depends on the season and my hams' condition.
As well as the mix, my hams all get dog biscuits and a scatter mix of dried veg. According to need they also get wet cat food, chicken, pasta, rice, mealworms, porridge, boiled hen/quail eggs, tofu, kitten kibble (if not in the mix) and veg. I also make a pick-me-up scatter mix for youngsters, mums just off litters or those who need extra condition which has mealworms, pigeon conditioner, budgie tonic seed, EMP and a few suet pellets.
My Ratrations order arrived this week so I have bags of seeds everywhere!
