Default Can hamsters eat yogurt?

Hi! I saw this on Pinterest and want to give it a try if it's safe.
i tried this. but got bored. and ate the yogurt. - mybungalow.org

If hamsters can eat yogurt, what's the best type? I would use organic, but... Plain, Greek, vanilla, etc? What's the best flavor?

They can eat yogurt but only tiny amounts as with any dairy products, some don't like it but others do, plain is best, flavoured yogurt usually has all sorts of additives.

The flavors I get don't because they're organic. They're just flavored with organic fruit and sugar, but on some the sugar content can get quite high! I'll try it with some plain yogurt and see what he thinks I'll only make him 2-3 to start, I dont think he could ever finish a whole tray in a healthy manner before the experation date!

Be careful with the sugar as dwarf hamsters are prone to diabetes

No hamster should have much sugar but syrians aren't prone to diabetes.

I think they're better with non sugar, non dairy treats really - but yoghurt makes very nice frozen lollies for humans!

My hams love a tiny bit of Yeo Valley Organic plain natural yoghurt. They only get a really tiny little smidge (a couple of licks!) about once a week or so, if that.

I buy a small pot each week for my dog so I always have it in the fridge. I wouldn't bother to give it to them if not.
