Question Questions

I’ve been preparing for my first hamster due to Syrian hamster that caught my eye on Monday. What to feed her and what to use as treats has been the most confusing to me. I understand to feed her 1-3 tablespoons, the food should be 19% protein, 6% fat, and 8% fibre.

Default Re: Questions

Once you get the hamster ask what it has been fed on and keep using that while the hamster settles in.

You can change food later, but gradually. Veg is good as a treat. Syrians are not as likely to get diabetes so most treats sold for hamsters should be ok.

1-3 teaspoons is about right, but watch how much they eat/hoard and adjust. You don't want too much to be hoarded as it may go stale.
