Default Burgess Hamster Harvest loosing its touch?

Been using this for a while, but think we need a change. Mix seems pretty 'dusty' these days - not much of the bigger bits, but plenty of the small grainy bits. Perhaps Harry Hamster might be worth a go?

I use Harry Hamster mix. There are small bits in their and one of my boys doesn't eat much of the small parts of the mix but I have heard that it is a good food for them. I haven't heard much about other hamster mixes but if there is a better one out there I wouldlike to give it a go x

I found the same Honey Pot. I used it for ages and really liked it but then it just seemed to go down in quality, lots of chaff and dusty bits as you say. Really a pity as I really liked it. Ended up switching to something else

Ha! I am so glad you said that. I ordered some at Christmas to try as most people seemed to think it was a bit better than Harry Hamster. I decided there were far too many itty bits in for Charlie to get his teeth into and stuck with Harry Hamster. I still have the Rodipet food but almost given up on that as he likes HH so much!

Right - HH tomorrow for Frodo it is then!

Did I mention that the last bag of Burgess I picked up was full of cobwebs? Took it back to shop and was told it was quite common - some type of moth that hatches after production? Will always open food with a tad more caution now

Urgh! I hope mine hasn't! Might as well bin it anyway rather than switch him over to something with itty bits he can't get his teeth into lol.

Actually the sign of those moths tells me the food is fresh as those moths won't occur with old food. On the other hand those moths if they get loose in your house are a pain to get rid of and they love to chomp on any kind of cloth.

Yuk! I had those once & they really aren't nice!
Not sure about the shops excuse either, they do occur but aren't common, or shouldn't be!

I've given up on Burgess hamster harvest too, Glowy picks riund it whereas he eats all his Harry Hamster, and Nibble liked it at first and now won't touch it because he's a fussbag.

I might buy a bag of one of the beaphar mixes if I can find any info about it!
