I think you'll be lucky to find info on Beaphar Bertie, it bugs me when I find a food without the most basic info so I spent some time searching but I think they want to keep it a secret which means I won't even think about using it!

I am using Burgess at the moment and it's been my favourite so far. Joey likes it as there's lots of little pieces for his little tiny Robo teeth but Rupert is less fussed. I've tried so many different brands and not found one yet that I'm totally happy with.

Zooplus mixes are next on the list to try, I've heard good things about those.

Ooh I didn't know Zooplus did mixes. Just looked - do you mean the JR Farm ones? We tried those (the Syrian ones) and I didn't like them. The adult hamster one was absolutely full of tiny bits (herbs and so on) and not many big enough pieces. The Farm Feast had bigger pieces but was stinky! Urgh I hated the smell - but that might just be me. Smelled very powerful of kind of meat stock or something. I really wanted to like it because it's the only one I found that doesn't have GM Soya in, but the protein is got from 'animal protein' instead which seems to be quite smelly animal protein. Maybe GM Soya isn't that bad.

We also tried the Bunny Dreams hamster one but that had lots of small bits as well.

I think the Versele Laga Crispy Muesli is supposed to be popular with hammies, but the Ingredients list isn't very detailed.

The rodipet mix is good - although again doesn't have a full ingredients list, and maybe I should have tried harder to switch over to it! I start mixing it in with the Harry Hamster, to start switching over, and Charlie does eat some of it, but he tends to pick out the HH and I've never got round to fully switching over and gone back to HH.

I might email beaphar and ask for the nutritional breakdown, it's so silly they don't put it on the packaging. The ingredients are on there! I won't buy it unless I know it's providing a decent nutritional balance.

So hard to find a decent mix. I was going to order some from rodipet and then thought about the upkeep costs if Nibble decides he does like it - expensive compared to the cost of a bag of Harry Hamster!

Mine seem to like the Rodipet food although I use several mixes & haven't switched them to that alone, no idea what the syrian mix is like but the dwarf ones do tend to look very different (in a good way!) to what we're used to seeing here so any switch would probably have to be gradual & could work out pricey, I'm a bit of a self confessed Rodipet shopaholic so it's no big deal to get one bag now & then when I'm ordering something else but just buying that alone wouldn't be very practical!
I still use some Burgess dwarf mix but it is my least favourite of all the foods I use.

barley I have heard people say they aren't keen on the JR farms & Bunnydream syrian mixes but I've found both dwarf versions to be good.

I used to feed my Chinese on Burgess for a few years without problems and then one day May decided to start being picky with it and it seemed like I was throwing away more than what she was actually eating. She ended up on Science Selective and I've not bought another bag of Burgess since. James eats Harry Hamster and he seems to like it so I don't feel the need to change him on to anything else.

My sister had bought the Burgess for her Hybrid but found that there was a lot of small pieces, I'm not sure what she feeds now though.

I seem to be chucking away loads of the burgess dwarf mix. Will check out the rodipet stuff.

I have to say my Syrian enjoys it although he thinks I'm trying to poison him with the crickets in the mix . I was doing a reasonably sized order so bought two tubs. May work out pricier than it's worth if just ordering the food though.

I'm not a fan of burgess's hamster food! Its got lots of oats and bran looking stuff in it and Flump wasn't keen! Unfortunately for her, she had to get through the whole bag until I would buy her some more, but I'm not choosing that one again!

I bought a new mix yesterday. Its called Cunpic Hamster Complete Food and I don't know what to think of it. It has a lot of seeds and pellet things in it as opposed to whats actually on the front of the packet so i'm a little dissapointed!

This one?
Very limited ingredients although "seeds" could mean anything I guess & very low protein too.
