Does anyone use Fitche's Hamster food
Hi,
I've read bedding is popular and wondered if anyone used
Mr Johnson's hamster food or Fitches Own Choice?
I'm looking for a good base food to add extras too.

Re: Does anyone use Fitche's Hamster food
I think most people with syrians use Harry Hamster but the Mr. Johnsons isn't too bad either, the Own choice one doesn't give a G/A anywhere I can see so there's no way of knowing if it supplies the correct levels of nutrients.

Re: Does anyone use Fitche's Hamster food
I've tried Charlie with various different mixes at various times but the Harry Hamster is the only one he seems to really like and eat all of it (except the black logs although there seems to be less of those these days! And apparently they're not that important nutrient wise). It's the one recommended by the Hamster Council although the protein level has gone down a bit since it was repackaged. But most people supplement as well with a little piece of fresh veg and extra protein treats like cheese or nuts or the occasional bit of chicken if you're having it for dinner.

Thanks Serendipity.
Having Grayling is like having
a surprise baby when your others
have flown and you thought you were
menopausal :~)
So despite 50 years experience, I'm a
new Mum again learning the new stuff :~)

Bit like me then lol. Actually Charlie is our little boy's hamster but he's lost interest a lot and Charlie's my baby lol.

I would avoid Mr Johnsons. I brought a bag a little while ago and threw it all out, it stank!! This horrible sickly sweet smell, it was really odd.
