Whimzees Dog Treats
Hi guys!
Recently I bought some Whimzees for my ratties. I made sure I bought them small enough for my Syrian. When we opened them, I gave some the my rats and one to Jade. She loved it! I really didn't expect her to like it so much, but she did! So, just letting you guys know in case you guys ever want to try something different but natural!

Re: Whimzees Dog Treats
Be very careful if your Syrian gobbles it up quickly as I had two young adult Syrian hamsters die from impacted intestines after devouring a small sized Euro Star shaped Whimzee, and another forum member had a really stressful time when her Syrian rapidly chewed up and swallowed a Small size Crocodile whimzee. Luckily her Hamster recovered but not without several very rough days to pass the bits out of her system.
Their perfectly fine for non aggressive chewers as long as they are the medium or large dog size, and never the small size Euro Star shaped ones..

She isn't an aggressive chewer. She stores them in her mouth pouches and then takes them to her bedroom or kitchen and stores them. She has food and treats (honey loops, honey sticks, millet, etc...) for days before they're all gone. I've only given her the XXS toothbrush shaped ones. I'm not sure what you mean by Euro Star shaped ones. A Google search landed me reading about a Tram Train and Troyes.
Petco only carries that Stix (S, M, L) Toothbrush (XXS, XS, S, M, L) Hedgehog (one size) Alligator (S, L), Veggie sticks (S Flat, L Flat, S Round, L Round), Veggie Ear (One Size), and Crossbone (haven't had in ages).
Thank you for the warning though.

Re: Whimzees Dog Treats
Hi amandad. I use the Teenie Weenie Greenies for my hams, since I also use them for my Chihuahua. They are similar to the toothbrushes you bought, and too big to be pouched. If your hammy is chewing them along with her other treats, she should be okay.

Yes, I am familiar with Greenies! I've given them to my ratties before. Never thought to give them to a hamster. haha! Thank you though! We only give her one type of treat at a time because it takes her so long to eat them. If we give her fresh fruits and veges, those are the only things that she will eat without storing them; she'll put them in her mouth pouches and put them somewhere and eat them that day/night. lol.
