Hazel Hamster food changed
So I heard about the new version a while ago, but I still was finding the old version on Amazon.....until now. It looks like the 3 main nutrients have all dropped 1-2 percentage points. I started looking for alternatives, but unfortunately, I think Hazel still is the best food. (at least according to the label of ingredients.)
Has Harry Hamster food changed in the UK as well?

Re: Hazel Hamster food changed
Try looking for Higgins food products that is all I feed my mottley crew here along with Block food, and a seed mixture I make myself for extra protein.

Re: Hazel Hamster food changed
I seem to remember Harry Hamster was supposed to be the same but the ingredients differently worded. My last bag however, was not the new packet but the old packet, so clearly been in stock for a while, but I have noticed it seems to have way more black logs in than it used to! They are now littered all over the cage! As those are the bits Charlie won't eat.
I've tried Charlie with various different hamster mixes - supposedly more natural and so on - JR Farm, Rodipet - but he either doesn't eat them or just picks the odd bit out so I kept going back to Harry Hamster because the sizes of the pieces seem good and he really likes it. It's supposed to have all the correct nutrients in and I supplement anyway, just to be on the safe side, but my supplementing isn't exact!
The Higgins one isn't available in the Uk I think so Nancy's recommendation might help! Do you have the ingredients list for your packet of Hazel and I can compare it with the packet of Harry I have.

Re: Hazel Hamster food changed
*waves to virtualkeith* hi! Haven't seen you in here much of late!
We have some hazel hamster products in the UK, I got some treats with hazel branding on the other week, I was wondering if they are going to rebrand here soon. Nibble won't eat HH whereas Glowy loves it. Nibble has the burgess hamster harvest, I don't know if that available in the U.S.? It's not the easiest to find here.

Re: Hazel Hamster food changed
I don't know, when I got fudge it was the one I started him on as it seemed good, made in UK and all natural and for £2 at p@h bargain. I have recently bought another bag but haven't opened yet. Packaging seems same. What was it like before if they have changed it?

Re: Hazel Hamster food changed
In the US, Hazel Hamster food came in a green bag with a big yellow dandelion on the front. The new one is brown and beige and it says "Little Friends hamster food" or something like that.

Re: Hazel Hamster food changed
The Harry Hamster I bought from Pets at Home in the UK earlier today is in a brown bag with the 'Tiny Friends Farm' branding.
I've not bought it for ages as May doesn't like muesli type mixes very much but I'd be interested to find out if it has changed.

Re: Hazel Hamster food changed
I don't think the Harry Hamster food has or will change, the packaging changed a while ago now along with the Tiny friends Harry hamster treats so I think the actual food will stay the same.
