Default Cabbage

I think I remember reading somewhere that hamsters could eat cabbage or am I jus going mad?

If so how do you prepare it for them? Do you need to cook it or do you just giv it as it is?

It's safe to give it as it is, but just in small amounts or it can make them sick.

Thanks

When I introduce any new food to my hamster's diet, I'll always provide just a tiny amount as a taster but I've never been one for huge portion sizes anyway.

Sooty really doesn't like veg very much at all and it's a struggle to get her to eat any of it but May's usually a bit more willing to try so I'll have to give it a go.

I steam all my veggies, that's my preference plus steaming them helps keep in the taste and goodness.
Just a small amount to see how your hamster takes to it.

Cabbage is fine in small amounts, it's not good to give too much of any one veg so best encourage them to eat as wide a variety as possible if you can.
They may enjoy a little cooked veg sometimes but apart from potato & sweet potato which must be cooked raw is generally best.
