Re: Help help help!!!!
I am going to take him to the store, the people there are really nice and see if they can help me return everything and get him a new cage. His waterbottle is ruined. Im not going to risk giving him anything out of that. I did buy a bi for him to turn into a bin cage, but im so scared now to set it up, i was going to get mesh tomorrow for it. Maybe the ladies at the pet store could help me out with a fish tank or lizard tank top that will fit. I will see what i can do, every possibile option is being explored right now.

Re: Help help help!!!!
Take photos of everything as evidence and report it. Even if it not followed up it is worth doing, a visit from the police may stop them from trying anything like that again.
As you said get him to the vets as soon as possible, his skin looks so sore, poor thing.
This kind of behaviour makes me want to follow an 'eye for an eye' and poison the cruel idiot who thinks its funny to hurt animals.

Re: Help help help!!!!
I can't give any advice everyone has already, but I would seriously think of kicking out your housemates or moving. After that horrible act of animal cruelty, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near those people.

Re: Help help help!!!!
Your housemates are horrible people for doing that to your poor Cujo!!! What vile excuse for a human being would do something like that?? Is there any way you could fit a lock to your bedroom door to stop them getting in again? You might be able to get an easy to fit locks (with keys etc.) from a hardware store? If you could do that then at least you can lock him into your bedroom when you are out and know that he is safe? I presume there is no way for either your housemates to leave or even for you to leave and try and find accommodation with nicer people in the next few weeks?
He looks really sore... I hope it goes well at the pet store, I hope the vet gives him a good check over and that no serious damage has been done to your poor Cujo. Let us know what they say and if you can get him a new clean house.
Once you've calmed down and have collected photos/ evidence of what they did to him I would contact the SPCA and the police. The police may not be helpful but provided with evidence they would have to take your claim seriously. I know that in the UK the RSPCA have taken on cases where hamsters have been abused by housemates so I'm certain that the SPCA should take this act of abuse seriously too.

Re: Help help help!!!!
This whole situation is making me sick to think about. You can't stay with these people. I don't know what your situation is with leases but you need to tell the landlord or the building manager if you won't tell the police. This whole thing could be seen as a threat to YOUR safety. People who poison animals do it to hurt the people who love them and I know I would feel incredibly unsafe in that situation.
Getting a lock on your door would be treating this like a childish prank or an accident, this was a very serious attempt to intimidate and upset you and you absolutely cannot continue to live with these people. I really hope you report it to the police, even just to make a statement so it's is on the record as more evidence if anything like this happens again. The police might also be able to tell you what your rights are as a tenant to get out of the house, even if it does mean breaking a lease. The police are corrupt everywhere but there are some good ones sometimes and you might get lucky. This isn't just animal cruelty it is also harassment and intimidation both of which are very serious crimes.
Good luck Human Cujo and hammy Cujo, I really hope you both come through this okay and you'll be in my thoughts.

Re: Help help help!!!!
If I had to call the police they would be arresting me for assault on the person who done this. I don`t know your situation Cujo but when you say `housemates` are you a student? You obviously share accommodation? Don`t you have your own locked room? How are your housemates able to see Cujo, is he in a shared room or what?
Take a good sample of this product you found inside the cage and try and have it identified. If it turns out to be a toxic or harmful product, you have every right to find out who done this and why. Don`t allow it to happen again. You obviously love Cujo and you have to be his voice.
Let us know how you get on at the pet store and what they do/say. x

Re: Help help help!!!!
Agreed Shannonmcm, people who are cruel to animals are more likely to turn their attentions to other people. The cruelty to pets should be bad enough and there's hope in that authorities are starting to realize that it can be a sign of worse to come. My advice to you is to get out and get far away. Are you considered an adult or a minor? If you have any reason to fear for your safety there may be an organization to help you but I would start with a report to the SPCA.
BE SAFE!

Re: Help help help!!!!
So sorry Cujo that is really terrible. I hope your guy is ok.
This event I believe is grounds for you to break a lease. Get out. Stay with a friend for now. I'd report it even if they won't do anything, it should be on the record. Call it a vicarious assault on you. Best of luck. If we can help in any way let us know.
