Red face Can hamsters eat figs

Hi guys, as it's nearly summer the figs on my fig tree out in the garden will soon be ripe.
I was thinking of giving a small amount to my hamsters when this time comes or even baking them into nutritious treats.
However, I am not sure about the amounts you can feed them, the nutritional value, and whether hamsters can actually eat them. I don't feel there are many trustworthy hamster websites that properly answer this question.
Please help,
Thanks(:

Hello popcornfang and welcome to Hamster Central. Yes, hamsters can have figs. You should only give a hammy a piece of fruit no bigger than your fingernail, especially if it a new food for them. They should only have fruit and veggies every 2-3 days until they get used to it. You can check out the following link on safe and unsafe foods for your hammy. Hope to see more of you.

If you have dwarf hammies, be careful because of diabetes. I tend not to bother with fruit at all for my dwarf hammies, just veggies. Check out the WIKI up at the left of you screen to read about nutrition and many other issues regarding hammies.

Thank you so much! This is EXTREMELY helpful! I have a Syrian so it should be okay to introduce it to him slowly. (:
