May getting a little less fussy!
May was such a fussy eater when I got her and there was always a lot of her least favourite foods left in her store. (I'll give her credit for being clever enough to think she could fool me into giving her more food by making me think she'd eaten it all - it worked for a day or two) She wouldn't touch fruit or veg and didn't like any commercially prepared treats. Now she's a lot less picky with her food, will eat a little bit of carrot or cucumber, enjoys a little bit of dry cereal as a treat and even tried chicken for the first time yesterday.
Has anyone else found that their hamsters have 'grown' out of being excessively fussy?

Re: May getting a little less fussy!
I think it varies a lot from one to another, some seem very cautious about new foods while others are excited by anything new! My hybrid Mickle is the most picky eater I've had but she has got better as she's got older but she definitely has phases of liking or being totally disinterested in certain foods!

Mine's getting MORE picky! I think when I adopted her, she hadn't had much variety. She tried everything I gave her (except dried mealworms!) and got excited about it.
Now, if I give her something she doesn't fancy, she will take it from me and throw it to one side.

I've seen a lot of variation between hamsters. Meat, Stitch and Garfunkel would have tried most things but Sooty is even worse than May and she's not showing any signs of becoming any less fussy as she's grown up.
I'm hoping that May's fussiness is something she's growing out of and she carries on being willing to try new things.

Re: May getting a little less fussy!
May very happily tried a bit of boiled egg yesterday and she loved it. I offered it to her in a shallow food dish and she took it straight away. She hopped into the food bowl when I put it down in the hope that there would be more and started licking it.

That's cute. She really enjoyed it. No fuss there!

I was expecting her to sniff it and then go away and think about it before giving it a taste but she surprised me with her enthusiasm.
