Default Hamster breakfast?

So I was wondering and I'm going to make this quick but can hamsters have seperate meals during the day like breakfast & dinner? I know you do this with most animals like guinea pigs, rabbits, dogs and there's probably loads more too. So I was wondering if I could feed them half of their food in the morning and the other half at night or should I just give it all in one portion?

Thanks

I suppose as long as the total amount of food you give them is adequate then I don't see why not. They store food in the wild though and their instincts still tell them to do this. Personally I like to scatter feed and give them the whole amount at once so they can practice their foraging and storing

I can't see why it would be any problem at all.

Mine just get fed in the evenings though as they're not usually awake in the mornings, and I am in enough of a rush before work as it is!

Mine has breakfast and dinner! She is usually awake in the early morning, that's when she does her 'housework', and she gets a tiny blob of porridge and a tiny bit of veg.

Then she has dinner shortly after we do - if we're having something she can have, she gets a little bit of that, or I find other bits of veg or whatever for her. She always gets up when I put the bowl in her cage.

She gets her hamster mix when I go to bed, I scatter it so it keeps her busy.

That's a good idea. Do you feed her cooked porridge or just the oats cause I'd like to try that out! Thanks for your answer

Robodwarfs she has cooked porridge - we grind the oats up a bit finer, then my sister makes a tiny bowl of porridge with about a teaspoon of that and boiling water when she makes our morning cuppa! It's hard to make a smaller quantity so she lets it cool and then scoops a little blob up on a very small spoon I found - Smokey prefers to eat it off the spoon, I hold the handle and she grabs the bowl of the spoon and eats the porridge, and she always turns it over to check if there is any stuck on the back!

We actually started this because when Smokey arrived in the house, my sister had a very poorly rabbit who was being syringe-fed baby puree and porridge, so we tried giving Smokey a bit and she loved it. Sadly the rabbit passed away but my sister kindly carried on making Smokey's porridge - she is a bit spoiled!
