Default mixing hamster foods

What's the general wisdom on mixing hamster foods? Is it better because of the variety or worse because they may not get the complete intended nutrition from either brand

I give mine some from 3 mixes. I use Harry Hamster, Pets At Home brand and the Dwarf Burgess Mix.
I give a bit of each so they have a variety.
If you get the complete hamster mix then it should be fine and contain all the relevant nutrients.
I find with mine that they like different things from each mix, the things they don't like, I still give and sometimes they'll eat it.

Mixing them is fine, a lot of us do it, I prefer to rotate my mixes rather than just mix them all up into one feed as I think it makes it a bit more interesting for them but either way is ok.

Usually if one of the hamster food bags contains a less percentage in protein, fat or fibre than what's recommended, some people mix in another bag. So say one bag had a low percentage in protein, it'd be good to mix in another bag with a higher protein count.

You have to be careful with the measuring though, because it could go over the recommended fat and fibre percentage.

I use Harry Hamster mixed with a few Science Selective pellets for Rupert.

I tried him with Hamster Harvest as I wanted to use that too, but he didn't like it!

My Syrians get Burgess Hamster Harvest and every second day they get a Science Selective heart shaped biscuit added to it. My dwarfs get the same apart the fact that they don't get Hamster Harvest but Dwarf Burgess mix.

I agree with others. Some people mix mixes, others rotate them for variety. Some people use just one complete brand. Either way is fine as long as the hammie gets their nutritional requirements met.

I am thinking to start mixing Harry Hamster with my other mixes as well as with Science Selective. More variety the better.

+ other fresh foods ( like pasta, chicken, veggies ,eggs, baby food for elderly hams etc..)

Thank you everyone. That's helpful. All mine seem to like different bits out of their mixes, I think I like Burgess best now having tried a few brands, but littlun is so fond of the pumpkin seeds out of harry hamster i am being soft and buying that as well. He gets the seeds and willow gets the banana chips!
