Default Coconut oil?

Hi, I have a bag of assorted mix of died fruits, since I thought Chibi may like dried banana chips once a week, but I gave one to him an found out it had coconut oil all over it, I even mixed the dried banana in with his regular treat box, so is coconut oil safe for hamsters to have one or maybe twice a week?

Coconut oil is actually quite healthy & hams can eat a small amount of coconut so I doubt a little would hurt, a small piece once a week should be ok.
Was the bag of fruit meant for humans or hams? It always worth looking really carefully at all the ingredients either way before giving them anything, you'll often find sugars or preservatives or other things you might not really want them to have.

Coconut is ok for them, so I can't see why the oil wouldn't be.

It's actually a very beneficial oil - I give it to my dog daily for the health benefits - so it is probably good for hamsters too!

It's for humans, it had raisins, banana chips, papaya and coconut flakes. The papaya and coconut flakes contain preservatives, but the banana contains sugar and honey, so he's only allowed little bits.
