Default Bread

Hey,

So yesterday night i was watching a film and i got hungry. So i went downstairs and made myself some toast. While i was eating it jenny came out of her cage.... And i had this idea: could i give bread to her. I mean plain white toast bread...not toasted obviously. And if yes then in what quantities and how often?

Thanks

Hi Dave - I have given small pieces of wholemeal, seeded toasted bread to mine.
Only a small piece of the crust but always toasted because then there isn't a risk of it getting stuck in their pouch.

I think toasted would probably be better too & Jenny might well enjoy it more if it's a bit crunchy, white bread has very little nutritional value though so I would only give a tiny bit & not often, wholemeal like Artisan uses would be a better option.

A very small piece probably won`t harm, but read the ingredients list on the bread. Some of the chemicals in bread and raising agents would make your head spin! It`s not something I give even as a treat. I tend to stick to small pieces of apple, garden peas and crushed nuts. x

I usually give wholemeal or brown bread toasted with a little bit of butter, egg or melted cheese.
