It's not OK to feed much of. Only if you really are desperate could you give it.
Bunnies have different nutritional needs and systems to hamsters. Most supermarkets sell some time of hamster food which you could pick up easily till you get that changed to the correct hamster diet.
I can only see one type in our post.

I wouldn`t feed rabbit food to a hamster. As soufflé suggested, supermarkets sell hamster food, either own brand, or WAGG. Their own brand hamster mixes can be quite good actually and Pets At Home do their own hamster muesli mixes and pelleted foods. So I would send the rabbit food back or ask for a full refund as they made the mistake and buy locally until you can get what your looking for online.

Tesco and Asda both do good hamster mixes. Depends if your in the UK though. x

I'm not sure about the rabbit food, You can go to pet stores and find hamster food there like:
Pets at home muesli or Harvest hamster food!

Can you return the rabbit food to whoever you ordered it from online! Also I would return the food the vet sold you also. It's of no use to you and you've wasted a lot of money.
Where are you from?
I buy Harry Hamster food mix, Tesco's Hamster Muesli (black bag) & P@H own brand. I like to give mine a bit of each for variety.

I wouldn`t see that vet again either if they told you rabbit food was OK to feed to a hamster. I thought pet shops gave bad advice....!!! Hope you managed to find some hamster mix locally. And yes, mixing a few foods together can be beneficial as it gives more variety. Look for brands like Burgess Supahamster and the supermarket brands. x

my vet is really a good person, he has just been too busy with dogs these years so he didn't know much. He told me this food might be ok but didn't want to make me buy it, just told me his opinion. I returned the food and went to a pet shop with my dog and i had to stay outside so i told them i wanted hamster food. He asked me how much and i told him 1kg. As i went home I saw rabbit food again. I guess there's no hamster food including only large pieces like rabbits' food. I'll order again online I guess. By the way I'm a greek and that's why things are so crappy. I think I'll just order some food and leave this one on the streets for the stray...

You say you're a Greek, so are you still living in Greece?
Rabbit stuff has something in it which isn't suitable for hamsters (I can't remember the ingredient).
3 different people have got the same thing wrong! Vets should be trained and updated on every animal, it really annoys me when this happens, hamsters and other small rodents should be treated the same. Vets have all this information at their fingertips - the internet!
Some vets prefer treating cats and dogs which isn't right, all pets deserve to be treated the same.

Yes, you're right.. It's just the level of awareness in Greece (yeah i still live here :/ ). Education is sooo wrong and it's up to people to educate themselves only from the internet. Especially if you voluteer help just like my vet it's so hard to find some free time to learn more things. People here are also not so familiar even with the english language.
If you read something in greek, most of the time it will be pointless as it will be recycled information from unaware people. Anyway I ordered enough food online for several months, along with crackers.
