Re: Mineral Block
I've never used a mineral block but have looked at them. These things always come with long dates.
Good she likes it, I'd keep it in until she finishes it.

Re: Mineral Block
I've tried a few & mine generally tend to ignore them! They don't really need them tbh but if she's enjoying it that's fine & you could leave it in all the time but I would try giving her a few other things to chew on as well like maybe antos dog chews, a little bit of bonio dog biscuit & other chew toys so she doesn't over do it.

Re: Mineral Block
Antos dog chews and bonio dog bics are a good choice like cypher suggested. They also help keep their teeth trim!

Re: Mineral Block
Sorry Hamstelover I'm not quite sure what you were asking there but I don't think you need worry, chewing is natural for them & it's good that she's chewing things she's meant to chew unlike some hams! Just give her plenty of variety & she should be fine.

Re: Mineral Block
Hi,can I ask what type of cage do you have her in? Anyway,as others said gnawing is very natural behaviour of rodents as they need to keep their teeth trim.As long as it is not bars of the cage,it's perfectly fine.I would say animals know when to stop chewing on mineral block, they use it if they need it.What kind of diet do you have her on?

Re: Mineral Block
We have her on her hamster museil from pets at home. She get a bit of fresh veg/fruit every other day and she has a bonio in her cage to chew and two chew treat things and tubes. Her cage is a Large duna fun ferplast we are getting her a bigger ferplast cage at the end of this month as we are thinking it may be her cage. She has been through 3 wheels in 2 weeks as she did not like one of them and she is okay with the other two. Rinoa has a wodent wheel, normal pets at home one and a flying saucer. I was thinking of maybe trying buying a back of plain chicken and sharing it with the two animals we have and giving her a little bit of that. We have also just bought her some milk bones as well for her chewing. She's still new to life with us so we are trying to figure out her favorites. I will say she is a fast taker and loves her ball we put it near her cage the other day and she climbs straight in it. With supervison we left her run around from 20mins in the ball we will be doing the same tonight. So it's not like she has no attention
