Red face Foods

Need ideas for fresh foods for a Syrian Hamster.(around 6 weeks old)
Ideas please
We have been giving her a bit of fresh carrot every other day. Do vegetables needs to be cooked. My partner but am images in my head of hamster carrying little pans and that in their pouches lol, saying it doesn't need to be cooked as they don't cook them themselves

Default Re: Foods

These are some of the things I've fed to my hammies as extras. I'd recomend that a good quality complete hamster mix remains the main part of your hamster's diet and the other food fed as extras. Fruit and veg can be fed cooked or raw (apart from potato - I only feed that cooked). Remember to keep clear of garlic or onion in foods.

cooked rice or pasta
mashed potato
millet sprays
dog biscuits (e.g. Bonio, milky bones)
unsalted nuts (cashews, brazil nuts, monkey nuts, pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts)
baby food (canned or jars, savoury flavours preferred)
dry kitten food
cooked chicken or turkey
crickets or mealworms (live, canned or dried)
scrambled or boiled egg
baby rice or cooled porridge
Cucumber, peas, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts
Apple, banana, grapes, sweetcorn (fresh, dried or baby)

I totally agree with the above!
My 2 love all! Even better to give something different everyday if you can.
Most vegetables can be eaten cold but, mine prefer theirs cooked and as I'm a big fan of vegetables, I'm able to give them something different most days, I steam all my veg as it keeps the taste better.
I find Supermarket and Bird's Eye Microwave Vegetable Steam Bags brilliant, 3 minutes in the microwave.
Cow N Gate baby cauliflower cheese, creamy porridge and rice pudding are favourites with my 2.
With the baby food you need to use it within 2 days of opening but you can store it in ice cube trays and freeze it.
