Where to get sunflower seeds?

Where would I go to buy just raw sunflower seeds? My local pet shops have giant bags of sunflower seeds for birds, but I don't need that much, just small bags worth.

Are you in the uk? I buy my girls sunflower hearts from tesco (sunflower seeds without the shell) you can get the ones with the shells on from health food shops.

Some pet shops sell them loose if you look around, there's a place in the garden centre I sometimes go to that does that, alternatively if you have a small local shop that bags them up themselves rather than selling prepacked they would probably be happy to make you up a smaller bag.
I usually get mine online from ratrations, postage can be a bit steep but there's always lots of other things I want to buy!
Do try to get them in the shell if you can (the black are best as they're smaller) as the shells are good for their teeth & they have to work for the treat!

I got my last bag from poundland. It was a big bag 500g i think but for a quid i couldn't complain.

Sorry to mention I'm from Washington. But thank you guys for answering. I'm going to trying going to some local groceries and search. I'll go online as last resort.

Ask a local pet store if they will weigh out a smaller bag for you of black sunflower seeds. These are the type found mostly in hamster foods anyway. Just say that the bags they sell are too big and that you really only need half and they should oblige by either opening a bag and removing half, or could make you up a smaller bag from the larger sack the seeds come in. Health food shops can stock the shelled sunflower seeds also, but they might be pricier. x

Do you have a tractor supply in your area? They have the "black oil sunflower seeds" there for wild birds. I am planning on getting some the next time I go by. They have different sized bags, and they are very cheap. These are also the smaller variety, so better for rodents. I use them with my rats too, so am looking forward to finding them in larger bags. Also, this site sells them by the pound, but they only have one variety.

If you're in the UK you can get bags cost per 100g at P@H Most supermarkets sell sunflower seed hearts.

Pets at home sell them lose in the bird section i think
