Default Canary/budgie seed

Does anybody use a canary or budgie seed mix to combine with their hamster mix? I'm thinking of doing it for my Syrian as I'd like to offer plenty of variety. Sorry if this has already been answered on the forums - I did a search to no avail.

Are there any seeds I should stay away from? I know overly sugary foods/treats should be avoided. I assume millet spray is okay to hang up in the cage - or are they likely to over indulge?

Thanks x

I use mixes of bird seed. Millet, linseed, some poppy not too much though, sesame etc, I also mix in freeze dried mealworms, if you can't get freeze dried then just dried will do

Budgie tonic seed is fine but only use it in moderation as a treat as you do need to be careful not to upset the overall balance of their diet.
Some hams will definitely overindulge with millet given the chance but most are ok with a spray left in the cage from time to time, just keep an eye on it & watch how fast it goes!
